If you've answered yes to any of these questions, the Colchester2020 Travel Plan Club can help provide a solution.
A Travel Plan is a package of measures that an organisation can offer its staff to encourage them to use sustainable travel options rather than always travelling by car. These measures include incentives, marketing, and information to promote cycling, walking, using public transport, car sharing, car clubs, home and flexible working. A Travel Plan can also contribute to corporate objectives such as cutting carbon emissions, corporate social responsibility and business accreditations such as IIP and ISO14001.
The Colchester2020 Travel Plan Club, formed by the Local Strategic Partnership-Colchester 2020, has been created to work with, and support employers (wholly or partly based in Colchester) wanting to, or being required through section 106 agreements, to implement work place travel plans.
The current seven members of the Travel Plan Club collectively employ and represent over 10,000 staff and another 10,000 students.
Membership of the Travel Plan Club is open to any organisation that is interested in reducing its carbon footprint and supporting its staff in using sustainable alternatives to the car.
The main benefits of being part of the Travel Plan Club include receiving support, advice and best practice in Travel Plan implementation from the central Travel Plan Coordinator and other club members, collective negotiation and lobbying power with the transport providers and local/national authorities and access to discounts, established incentive schemes and marketing material.
